How do you make money in the auction house on Animal Crossing City Folk WITHOUT help from friends?

Almost everyone always says you need people on your friend roster! I think this is ridiculous!
Say I wanted to display an item in the auction house that I could originally sell to nook for $1,000 (on the game). How much would I give the auction house for this item? Because I am never seeming to make any money…and I have no way of having any friends over with WiFi do to my stupid internet connection!

There is a slight chance that an animal that visits the city all of the time will buy it. If it’s worth 1,000 bells, then set the price for 1,500 - 2,000 bells. Good luck!
Catch a lot of butterflies, fishes and you can sell them at Tom Nooks store, also hake empty trees 100 cent coins come out most of the time. -Hope this helped!
Sorry to say but you need friends and a connection to the internet.
this is how it works. lets say a friend puts an item up for auction, you must buy that item ON THE SAME DAY. nobody in the game other than your friends will buy these items. i know its very stupid and nintendo did not put a lot of time on the auction house programming but its true. i did a lot of test with my friends over wifi.
Unless you have friends there is no real way to make any money but here is a cheat that works well -
Travel to bunny Day and dig up all the eggs open them and give Zipper the foil, then sell everything u don’t want. DO NOT EAT THE CANDY!!!!! Travel to festival and give Pave the candy he wants, talk to the villagers if you have to sell everything you don’t want! If you have remaining candy travel to Halloween and give it to jack! Sell everything you do not want and you will be rich!!
Note - Time Traveling side affects will occur!
Don’t auction items. it’s a slow way of making bells, and you’d be better off catching and selling fish, harvesting etc, unless you really know what to do. Don’t waste your time doing that.
I don’t think anyone can buy stuff except for your friends. I put a bunch of items in my auction house and none of my neighbros ever came in to buy them ever.
