How can I sell my amplifier, or music gear in general, without eBay?

I live in Philadelphia. I have an expensive guitar amplifier and need to sell it, but eBay has done nothing for me except bill me for failed auctions. Can someone tell me what options I have? Do auction houses sell stuff like this?

craigslist.com its alot better than ebay because you can set it as local area so if you live in oklahoma city, OK than you set it as that and when somone from your area searches for it than you will come up
you can try craigslist… or try seeing if guitar center, or whatever music instrument stores in your area buy/sell used gear (may not get the most $$ this way, but should be the easiest way to unload your stuff)
